Position: Nursery Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Barking and Dagenham
Start Date: September 2024

The primary school are committed to providing a supportive and stimulating environment where young learners can thrive. As they continue to grow, their Nursery Team are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to join our team in September 2024.

Role Overview: As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our early years educators in delivering high-quality care and education to children aged 3-5 years. You will assist in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that fosters the physical, emotional, and social development of our young learners.

Working in a Nursery attached to a mainstream primary school you will benefit from shorter working hours (8.30am - 3.30pm) and more holiday (13 weeks of holiday per year).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities and educational programs.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Provide compassionate and attentive care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the observation and assessment of children's progress, sharing insights with the teaching team.
  • Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and toileting.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support the development of social skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their development.
  • Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting is preferred but not essential.
  • A relevant childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a nurturing attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
