The Role
We are seeking a dedicated, ELSA-qualified Learning Support Assistant to support the school's SEND provision. This role focuses on delivering targeted emotional literacy interventions for primary-aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small group emotional support sessions
- Develop and implement personalised support plans in collaboration with the SENDCo and class teachers
- Foster safe and trusting environments for children to express their emotions and build resilience
- Act as a wellbeing advocate, working with families and outside agencies where necessary
- Support whole-class learning when not delivering interventions, always championing inclusive practice
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- ELSA qualification and experience delivering emotional literacy support
- Experience in primary settings and working with SEMH needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compassionate, resilient, and professional approach
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or challenging behaviours
- Familiarity with trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches
