As a Career Advisor, you will be responsible for providing Career Information, Advice and Guidance to adults on a range of opportunities, including learning, career paths and employment. Primarily, this role will involve working in the community, but it may also require the delivery of sessions virtually. Venues will include Job Centres, libraries, colleges and community centres.
Contract: Permanent - Full-time
We are looking for an experienced Career Advisor to work in the Slough area through the National Careers Service. You will help young people and adults to build the skills and confidence they need to move into sustainable education, employment or training.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Hold an IAG qualification at least Level 4 or above to be eligible for this role.
- Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or above
- All appointees will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check.
- You must also be able to build effective and professional relationships with individual clients, have a non-judgmental attitude, and desire to support people in fulfilling their potential.
- A commitment to undertake all necessary training for the role
- Experience of working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Experience in managing a caseload of adults/young people to meet targeted outcomes
Desirable
- An awareness of the issues affecting people, particularly the impact of social and economic disadvantage on personal motivation, confidence and ability to progress through education, employment and training
