Based in the Newtown area in Powys, the ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services that meet the company's operational needs. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a keen understanding of supply chain processes, and proficiency in relevant purchasing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing, purchasing and negotiating goods, materials, and services at the most cost-effective price.
- Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Providing prices for all materials.
- Invoicing - checking costs against purchase orders.
- Keeping detailed records and maintaining a well-organised work schedule.
- Providing advice to the management team on predicted costs.
- Preparing and maintaining cost reports to maximise efficiency.
Key Requirements:
- Experience as a Buyer in or in a similar procurement role.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
- Professional telephone manner.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail.
