**Job Title: Fabrication and Welding Assessor

**Location:

Middlesbrough and various employer sites

**Salary:

Up to £32,900 per annum

Full-time, Permanent

**Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fabrication and Welding Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will assess and support apprentices in the workplace, ensuring they meet the required standards up to Level 3. This role involves traveling to various employer sites and requires a strong background in fabrication and welding, ideally with an A1 Assessor qualification.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct regular assessments of apprentices in the workplace, evaluating their skills and knowledge in line with Level 3 Fabrication and Welding standards.

  • Provide constructive feedback to apprentices and employers to enhance learning and development.

  • Ensure that all assessments are carried out in compliance with college and awarding body standards.

  • Support and Guidance:

  • Offer guidance and support to apprentices, helping them understand and meet the requirements of their apprenticeship program.

  • Develop individualized learning plans to address any skills gaps and track apprentice progress.

  • Assist apprentices in preparing for their End Point Assessment (EPA).

  • Employer Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to facilitate effective apprenticeships.

  • Liaise with employers to ensure apprentices gain relevant and valuable experience in their roles.

  • Promote the benefits of apprenticeships to potential new employer partners.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, feedback, and apprentice progress.

  • Prepare and submit reports as required by college policies and external bodies.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Participate in internal and external quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of assessment.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the apprenticeship program.

**Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Fabrication and Welding.

  • Relevant industry experience in fabrication and welding.

  • Desirable:

  • A1 Assessor qualification (or equivalent, such as CAVA or TAQA).

  • Experience in a similar assessor role within the education sector.

  • Familiarity with End Point Assessment processes.
