Roles and Responsibilities
Your position primarily involves daily planning of deliveries and collections.
- Planning and allocating jobs to drivers for deliveries and collections, with thorough on-going communication to keep jobs on track and build relationships
- Provide problem solving guidance on any operational issues such as late changes to plans and compliance with policies and procedures
- Controlling and effective planning of vehicles and trailers ensuring all legal requirements are adhered to
- Ensure daily plan is completed in real time. Managing resources effectively whilst minimising cost
- Ensure that our internal systems are kept organised and updated at all times
- Maintain compliance and conformance for safe working practices and working time regulations
- Achieving KPIs relating to the safety and efficiency of our fleet ensuring targets are maintained
- To process export & import documentation following correct procedure
- Manage customer expectations and provide an excellent customer service experience
- Answering office phone calls
- Any other reasonable tasks as requested by management
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good knowledge of the freight industry
- Clear communication skills as you will be required to communicate with customers, third parties and colleagues
- Ability to work on own initiative as part of a team
- Being proactive is essential in order to prevent major issues with shipments
Required Attitude and Personality
- Must be reliable
- Flexible with working hours when necessary
- Concise and careful worker adhering to CAA regulations
- Reasonable IT skills (Outlook, familiar with using the internet)
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and responsibilities
- Be a positive representative of Front Runner Logistics when liaising with customers and third parties
Experience, Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Experience working in a logistics company previously
- The role requires a clean CRC check (which will be carried out before employment)
- Ideally the candidate will have had previous training in Cargo Operative (non-screening) and Hazard Awareness - this training is also mandatory and will be completed before employment if the candidate does not already have this training
