Head of Year - Outstanding School

Are you a Head of Year or Pastoral Lead looking for a rewarding and challenging role at a high achieving school? Do you have experience providing pastoral care, managing behaviour and monitoring attendance? This Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in North Birmingham is recruiting for a Head of Year to support Year 7 in their leaning journey.

This role requires an individual with previous Head of Year or Pastoral Lead experience who can inspire a love for learning, manage behaviour effectively, and provide detailed to the leadership team. Behaviour at this school is overall excellent and you will be focused on ensuring that students are to cope with the pressure of high expectations. This role is Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00 and requires previous experience in a pastoral capacity.

Job Role:

  • Providing behavioural and pastoral support for a year group.
  • Delivering 1-2-1 intervention sessions focused on improving behaviours and personal development and attainment.
  • Effectively communicating with parents, carers and outside agencies.
  • Working with a small team of experienced Head of Years and pastoral staff to provide outstanding support for all students.
  • Attending safeguarding meetings with the DSL and safeguarding team
  • Ensuring that students are supported effectively across your assigned year group.
