Payroll Assistant

Randstad are recruiting for a payroll officer to work alongside the existing payroll team for an ongoing contract with Northern Regional College

Requirements

  • Have a level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline OR 2 years payroll experience
  • 12 months experience in a payroll function
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office - Excel is essential
  • Experience with either auto-enrolment, pensions or business expenses / P11d's
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English - C and above
  • Candidates will be subjected to enhanced vetting including an Enhanced access NI check

Responsibilities

  • Collate timesheets and other information which relates to payments
  • Check that all documentation received is properly authorised
  • Input data from timesheets and other documentation.
  • Undertake checks to ensure accuracy of input
  • Calculate and input payment details for staff with more than one post and ensure costing is correct
  • Calculate authorised manual payments, ensure accurate and timely posting, and ensure manual payments are subsequently recouped where appropriate
  • Calculate and input sick pay and maternity pay in accordance with appropriate schemes and statutory regulations
  • Calculate and input amounts for other college schemes such as the Cycle to Work and Childcare Voucher Schemes
  • Initiate and complete all documentation relating to terminations such as P45 tax form, pension forms where applicable
  • Maintain personal employee records, including master data, and in relation to sickness and absences
