Occupational Health Advisor

The successful Occupational Health Advisor Carry out timely and effective evidence-based health assessments to provide informative information and analysis of medical concerns / conditions, along with recommendations regarding an employee's suitability for work.

The role will involve:

  • Conduct pre-employment health checks for prospective employees based on the risks specific to their proposed role.
  • Undertake occupational screening / health surveillance in accordance with health and safety legislation and interpret results and advise accordingly.
  • Prepare written reports to review fitness for work, inclusive of the assessment between the individual's abilities and the job role/tasks.
  • Undertake assessment of, and liaison with absent employees, to ensure an appropriate and timely return to work, including home visits where appropriate.
  • Providing advice and recommendations, such as reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010, including return to work plans, to support the employee whilst in work or returning to work.
  • Proactively develop a wellbeing agenda for the business, in consultation with the Head of HR, to ensure that needs of the workforce are met and to ensure attendance to work is maximised.

To be successful in this role of Occupational Health Advisor we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:

  • Be a Registered General Nurse (post registration).
  • Hold a FOM Diploma in Occupational Health Practice and hold up-to-date CPR / First Aid Certification.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
  • Experience working in a similar role in the private sector, preferably in an industrial / manufacturing setting.
  • Be proficient in conducting health screenings and assessing work environments to implement effective interventions.
