Purchasing Manager
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Purchasing Manager to join our client's team in a niche area of the communications industry, just outside of Cambridge. As a purchasing manager, you will be responsible for the management of a purchasing team, leading a global supply chain and ensure that optimum financial value for money is achieved for the business.
Your main duties will include:
- Establish and progress the procurement system ensure the financial system is streamlined and cost effective
- Choose the best vendors for the role, balancing quality and lucrative practice
- Review terms and contracts with existing partners
- Consistently seek ways to minimise expenditure and maximise profitability
- Maintain the supply chain efficiently
- Help the create business forecasts
- Review and avoid supply chain risks
- Line manage the procurement team
- Ensure the company is compliant with all legal and regulatory standards
What do we need from you?
- Have experience of working with global supply chains
- Line management experience
- Proven track record of reducing costs and strong negotiation skills
- Motivated individual who can inspire others
- Be open to international travel
- Expertise of working in a large organisation with complex procurement needs
- MCIPS training
- Have full driving licence with access to own vehicle
