Part-Time Accounts Assistant

An established Manufactuirng company based in Bedford is seeking a meticulous Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a 20-hour per week basis, working across 5 days. This pivotal role will support the Finance Controller in various financial, billing, and operational tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the finance inbox, promptly addressing queries and facilitating effective communication within the team.
- Check and accurately record supplier invoices in the system, obtaining necessary approvals for variances and ensuring proper coding and dimensions.
- Manage customer accounts receivable, including cash collections, allocating payments to invoices, and liaising with customers on payment clarifications and administrative matters.
- Perform month-end reconciliations for aged creditors/accounts payable, ensuring financial accuracy and completeness.
- Assist the Finance Controller in updating and maintaining cash flow forecasts, contributing to precise financial planning and analysis.
- Collaborate with suppliers for clarifications, administrative tasks, or other invoice-related inquiries.
- Provide additional financial and operational support as requested by the Finance Controller
- Requirements:
- 3 years of finance experience, with strong experience across Accounts payable, receivable and reconciliations
- Excellent communication abilities to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and a solid understanding of computer systems, ERPs, and accounting software.
- Capability to apply training and experiences to diverse scenarios, showcasing attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously, work independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate dedication to achieving exceptional results within deadlines.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Part-time position: 20 hours per week, worked across 5 days.
- Competitive salary: £25,000 pro-rata (£12,500 annually) for the 20-hour week.
