Job Purpose:
Provide strategic and financial insights to support decision-making and drive business performance for this Logistics and Supply Chain Company

Key Responsibilities

Operations
Strategic Planning:
Lead and coordinate annual budgeting, rolling forecasting, and long-term strategic planning. Ensure consistency in planning assumptions and documentation.
Prepare and review planning presentations and reports for consolidated decks submitted to the Group.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Develop and improve monthly management reports, incorporating KPIs and collaborating with senior management and group finance.
Support dashboard development and ensure accurate, timely, and effective databases.

Business Partnering:
Act as a trusted advisor, providing financial insights and guidance to business units.
Support case/scenario studies requiring finance input and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive performance and strategic initiatives.

Risk Management:
Identify financial risks and opportunities, regularly updating the R&O register.
Develop strategies to mitigate risks in collaboration with the business.

Commercial Support and Investment Appraisal:
Provide prompt investment appraisal and decision support, working with other functions and external parties as needed.
Support potential acquisitions with research, financial analysis, due diligence, and preparation of reports for senior management.

Process Improvement:
Review current processes with a Continuous Improvement mindset, seeking to streamline financial planning.
Work closely with finance and other functions for alignment and clarity.

Compliance, Professionalism, and Quality Control
- Maintain professionalism in daily activities.
- Ensure compliance with Data Protection Principles and handle personal data per company procedures.
- Ensure activities meet business reporting standards, providing quality financial information for effective management.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and complete reporting.

Essential

Education, Training, and Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis
- Excellent Excel modeling, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Degree-level qualification

Previous Experience:
- Strong commercial finance experience

Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial analysis
- Understanding of commercial investment appraisal techniques

Skills/Ability:
- Confidently influence and present at senior levels
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- High initiative, proactive, hands-on approach
- Strong organizational skills, able to meet deadlines and work independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
