Business Development Manager - Leading National Business Advisory Firm

A leading national business advisory firm is looking for a proactive and commercially-minded Business Development Manager with a "can do" and positive attitude to join their forward looking and collaborative team in London.

Straightforward, pragmatic and real, the firm specialises in forensics, corporate finance, debt advisory, restructuring and financial advisory and delivers strategic solutions across a broad range of situations. You will be joining an ambitious BD team, whose aim is to continually improve, refine best practice, increase revenue and market share, access new verticals and embed progressive BD skills and mindset across the business. This influential and respected team work closely together to ensure they support one another to achieve both team and personal objectives. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, the role holder will play a key part in assisting the London BD team to support Partners in confidently winning new business and retaining existing clients. Working across the full BD mix this role will require you to build strong and influential relationships with senior stakeholders across the business and in return offers the opportunity to be involved with a range of exciting growth initiatives. The Business Development Manager will enjoy a broad role, proactively identifying BD projects and taking the lead in developing and delivering strategic plans to drive growth. Using sector and market insights to develop and manage intelligent targeting initiatives, you will be required to support the firm's client programme through account management of key lender and legal relationships to grow the firm's share of wallet from major referrers and will be expected to build your professional network and develop relationships with existing and potential clients to identify opportunities for collaboration and uncover client insights. You will also be responsible for advising partners on pitch strategy and messaging, helping to embed a culture of best practice to improve efficiency. On the marketing side, the successful applicant will lead sector thought leadership campaigns to increase market share by creating new business opportunities and raising the firm's profile.

Personable and confident with excellent academics or equivalent, the ideal candidate will possess proven business development experience gained whilst working in a professional services or financial services environment to include demonstrable success in delivering strategic business development initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders. To prosper in this externally facing role, you will need the ability to build your own personal network and will be a proactive team player with first-rate written and oral communication skills. Strong critical and commercial reasoning will also be essential and applicants must be able to put together coherent recommendations from a variety of sources. Highly organised and calm under pressure, whilst handling multiple priorities within tight timescales, the Business Development Manager will enjoy taking ownership for and meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment.
