JP Recruitment are proud to be exclusively working with a Further Education organisation, based in Corby, to recruit an Interim Career and Employability Officer. This contract is to start in September 2024 and will go on until May/June 2025.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Provide information and guidance to students for job seeking.
- Deliver support to develop the employability skills of students, such as developing CV's, provide supported job search and help them to prepare for interviews including delivering interview techniques and styles.
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve their career goals.
- Identify and recommend suitable job and training opportunities.
- Work closely with employers to develop work related opportunities for students.
- Work closely with students to match them to work based learning and work experience opportunities and ensure that they are well-prepared to undertake them.
- Support the work required for organising career development learning and related programmes, careers fairs, programmes of presentations, groupwork, and meetings.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Educated to HND/degree level or equivalent and/or relevant vocational qualification such as an NVQ Level 3 in Advice and Guidance or similar. Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications.
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy equivalent to GCSE English and Maths
- Extensive experience of working with employers
- Experience of developing employability activities and opportunities
- Relevant experience in a similar role supporting students in being professionally ready to enter the workplace.
- Experience of providing first-line advice and guidance.
