The Commercial team at Calor Gas are looking to recruit a Pricing and Margin Manager

The Pricing and Margin Manager is responsible for enhancing the price and margin practices of both the cylinder and bulk LPG business through improving governance, strategic clarity, collaboration, modelling, visibility of performance and cost based analysis in order to maximise value for customers and Calor.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide an overarching pricing strategy which is supported by robust governance measures, developing, implementing and monitoring pricing policies, being accountable for all price changes and their implementation
  • Develop and embed a structured approach to review, collaborate and challenge the price and margin plans, targets, results and incentive awards, effectively analysing margin information in order to create robust scenario planning
  • Provide the business, and guide the SMLT, operations and commercial functions, with ongoing visibility of pricing and margin performance at the relevant level of consistency, detail and frequency to be effective in driving continuous improvement ensuring good understanding of and implications of reported data
  • Evaluate trends, create reports, review and analyse data sources to determine the pricing strategy for each relevant customer segment, including additional services e.g. as delivery charges in order to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and create a robust approach to managing through supplier price increases and cost reflective pricing for all relevant revenue streams, managing and controlling the company's approach to rebate support/discount rates, clearly showing the impact on the company's performance
  • Translate accurate data and information, extracted from management systems, into presentations and reports for review and decision making by the Head of Commercial Effectiveness
  • Regularly liaise with the Gas Supply Function to ensure market conditions are reflected in Calor's pricing strategies, measuring the effectiveness of price changes and ensure on-going policy adherence and the impact on financial forecasts

As such we would like you to have/be:

  • Significant experience within Finance and Sales regarding pricing, margin and cost based activities
  • Detailed understanding of pricing and margin management practices, systems & processes
  • Experience of developing reports to satisfy business requirements through the appropriate use of reporting tools and data analysis
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence across multiple functions and within a team environment
  • The ability to identify needs, design enablement solutions and deliver solutions to the organisation with credibility and impact
  • Ability to continually identify and monitor revenue and cost opportunities and embed relevant plans to maximise value
  • Detailed understanding of building relevant pricing governance systems and related policies
  • Strong project and time management skills, with an ability to set and maintain priorities to meet deadlines
  • Able to communicate with technical staff and to translate information for non-technical staff
  • Able to influence and lead key experienced stakeholders throughout the Calor business
  • Expert level IT skills
