Tierpoint Partners is pleased to be partnering with a global manufacturing and technology company to appoint a Strategic Planning and Commercial Strategy lead to one of their key UK&I divisions. This is a permanent position and a great opportunity to lead the strategic direction of the business and contribute to continued growth.
As the Strategic Planning and Commercial Strategy Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of a £400m business unit. This position requires a sharp focus on detail, a drive for high performance, and a strategic mindset to maximise sustainable and profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning exercises, target setting activities, and monthly forecast elaboration for the Business Unit.
- Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to set and drive monthly and yearly targets.
- Contribute to the commercial strategy of the Business, maximising sustainable and profitable growth to contribute to the Equity story.
- Partner with the Business Unit lead to support and challenge on required actions to deliver on short and long-term performance.
- Analyse financial data and provide insights to improve financial performance, including full end-to-end CCO P&L.
- Challenge new business models and drive transformation implementation.
- Assess strategic plans, map risks and opportunities, and ensure compliance of the commercial strategy to deliver profitable growth.
- Supervise all month-end duties, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
- Drive monthly performance analysis and business reviews.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Identify and manage financial risks and support Plant Controllers and Project Controllers in understanding and managing risks in the BU.
- Lead transversal transformation and process improvement projects, leveraging digital tools to bring insights and enrich the reporting process.

Skills and attributes:
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software.
- Ability to work in a complex and fast pace environment
- Effective communicator
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Knowledge of Revenue Recognition (IFRS15) and Project and/or Contract Accounting
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
Education
- Education: Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance related field.
- Certification: ACA/ACCA or CIMA certification preferred
- Experience: At least 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience.
