About the job:

The Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organisation operates in accordance with all relevant, regulations, and policies. This role involves developing and implementing new processes and policies, for client accounts, organisation and providing guidance to senior management. The Compliance Manager will collaborate with various departments and clients to identify and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring the organisation's standards are upheld

Responsibilities:

Compliance Program Development:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a compliance program in line with the client and organisations requirements.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and industry standards to ensure the organisation's practices remain compliant.
  • Create and update schedules, policies, procedures, and guidelines to reflect regulatory requirements.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Identify potential compliance risks within clients and our own organisation's operations.
  • Collaborate across teams to develop delivery on contracted compliance KPI's, to mitigate and manage compliance risks effectively.
  • Review inspections, risk assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the compliance department.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Regularly report on compliance statuses to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Investigate and escalate any reported instances of non-compliance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Schedule inspections across client sites in line with contracted agreements.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, schedules, audits, inspections, and assessments.
  • Work on existing IT programmes for clients and develop processes for tracking and documenting compliance-related incidents and resolutions.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with account managers, H&S teams, and other relevant departments to align compliance efforts.
  • Communicate changes in regulations and compliance requirements to relevant clients and teams.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Previous experience in a compliance role
  • IOSH as a standard is desired.
  • Excellent IT, communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, develop and implement new processes.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment efficiently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (especially Excel) along with previous knowledge of compliance software and technology
  • Experience in the construction and maintenance services sector is favoured
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including auditors, suppliers, advisers, and regulatory authorities.
