We are looking for an individual, on a part time basis, to join us as a Solicitor to manage and take responsibility for negotiation of current and new wayleaves that the business requires in order to deliver our network expansion. You will manage the negotiation of an agreement, where a landowner instructs a solicitor, to efficiently complete the wayleave process. You will also provide support and guidance to the Rural Planners where necessary in relation to wayleave agreements. There may be the opportunity to get involved in other aspects of the legal department, depending on experience.

As a Solicitor your responsibilities include:

  • Negotiate and complete wayleaves, easements and leases for the installation of electronic communications apparatus
  • Oversee progress of bespoke wayleave agreements
  • Negotiate terms of agreements with solicitors acting for Landowners
  • Ensure timely completion of agreements
  • Provide wayleave support, training and guidance to Rural Planners where required
  • Provide cover in relation to Land Registry queries

Requirements of a Solicitor:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive
  • At least 2 years PQE or other commensurate experience
  • A strong grounding in the relevant aspects of property law, preferably with knowledge and experience of the Electronic Communications Code
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Highly organised team player

Hours: 20 hours per week, preferably 9.30am - 1.30pm each day, but can be worked more flexibly by arrangement

Location: Can either be office-based (near Blandford Forum, Dorset) or hybrid from home, with regular office visits
