Financial Accountant responsibilities:
- Maintain and work within a robust monthly financial control process to monitor service delivery, investigating and resolving all problems.
- Operate within, and deliver outcomes in line with, the annual financial timetable,
- Liaise with Finance colleagues and colleagues from across the business to ensure delivery of corporate and financial outcomes by the required completion dates.
- Prepare comprehensive financial guidance notes relevant to the role and ensure operation in line with this guidance.
- Maintain a complete and current understanding of legislation, professional guidance, advice from internal/external audit, Accounting Standards and any internal or statutory requirements specific to the role.
- Support training and development initiatives for colleagues in finance and across the wider business.
- Respond to ad hoc requests for reports / information requests from colleagues in finance and across the business, including Freedom of Information requests, to time and to a high standard.
Key requirements:
- CCAB qualified or passed finalist
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Strong understanding of financial controls
- Practical knowledge of financial reporting standards
