Role:
As a Technology Specialist, you will work with a number of schools across a region to help ensure their technology is fit for purpose.
You may also be involved with central projects on a national basis dependent on your skill set:

  • Helping local IT implement technically challenging medium-scale projects, including supporting their procurement.
  • Carrying out technical audits of key systems and processes, to identify threats to a school's effective operations.
  • Supporting and challenging local IT and school management to implement any necessary changes to address identified problems.
  • Providing input to IT estate refresh planning, allowing the school to budget to sustain a highly effective technology infrastructure/devices.
  • Giving advice and training to local IT staff, to develop the school's capacity; and
  • Offering additional short-term expert capacity in times of crisis.

Essential Skills:The proven ability to produce written outcomes to a high standard and strong mathematical ability MCSE/CCNA or equivalent technical qualificationsExperience and demonstrable expertise in:

  • Azure/Entra/O365
  • Windows OS
  • InTune & Autopilot
  • Windows Server environments including hypervisor deployments in both Hyper-V and VMWare
  • Active Directory
  • Layer 3 Network Management and WAN optimisation
  • Highly developed diagnostic and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience of leading and developing team(s) at delivering technical excellence
  • Strong knowledge of basic ICT packages: Office, Outlook, Windows.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement
  • A genuine interest in technology and a clear strategy for keeping up to date with developments

Desirable Skills:

  • Good relevant honours degree (2.2 or above) or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of further professional development and training
  • Experience of working within education/school environment
  • A clear understanding of how IT is effectively used in teaching and learning
  • Knowledge and experience of ITIL service desk operations
  • Experience of working across multiple sites and managing the expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in documenting systems and operations in complex environments
  • Experience with Apple IOS/OSX & Google Chrome OS
  • Experience with PowerShell and Graph PowerShell
