Management Accountant required to join an independent not-for-profit organisation based in Lancashire. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is an experienced Management Accountant to join their dynamic and growing finance function on a full-time, permanent basis.
As the Management Accountant you will oversee the provision of a full Management Accounting service to ensure that accurate, timely and relevant information is produced to enable effective financial management of the organisation, alongside other duties below:
Key responsibilities of the Management Accountant
- Supervise the production of annual and profiled budgets for all cost centres based on assumptions agreed by the Business Partners with budget holders.
- Oversee the production of forecasts based on methodologies agreed with the Business Partners and ensuring that validation checks are in place to avoid errors.
- Manage the workload of the management accounting team including ad-hoc requests for information and reports and support the professional and personal development of team members.
- Ensure that all processes and procedures are documented, kept up to date and aligned with the financial regulations.
- Support the Finance Business Partner Team to areas of the organisation where projects/business cases require additional resource.
- Provide support to the FP&A to assist the continued development a suite of quality and trusted Management Information (e.g. the roll out and expansion of Power BI).
- Deputise for the Senior Management Accountant as appropriate.
Required skills and experience of the Management Accountant
- Part Qualified/Qualified ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA/CCAB or equivalent
- Advanced Excel skills
- Power BI desirable
- Excellent communication and organisation skills with ability to lead.
- Experience of disciplined management accounting and forecasting processes.
- Experience of providing financial analysis to both finance and non-finance managers.
- Experience of working in complex multi-disciplinary environments.
- Experience of budget setting in an organisation.
- Experience of using Financial Information Systems.
- Experience of using complex spreadsheets and database tools to analyse financial data.
- Experience of financial analysis to support tenders and business cases.
