Management Accountant required to join an independent not-for-profit organisation based in Lancashire. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is an experienced Management Accountant to join their dynamic and growing finance function on a full-time, permanent basis.

As the Management Accountant you will oversee the provision of a full Management Accounting service to ensure that accurate, timely and relevant information is produced to enable effective financial management of the organisation, alongside other duties below:

Key responsibilities of the Management Accountant

  • Supervise the production of annual and profiled budgets for all cost centres based on assumptions agreed by the Business Partners with budget holders.
  • Oversee the production of forecasts based on methodologies agreed with the Business Partners and ensuring that validation checks are in place to avoid errors.
  • Manage the workload of the management accounting team including ad-hoc requests for information and reports and support the professional and personal development of team members.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are documented, kept up to date and aligned with the financial regulations.
  • Support the Finance Business Partner Team to areas of the organisation where projects/business cases require additional resource.
  • Provide support to the FP&A to assist the continued development a suite of quality and trusted Management Information (e.g. the roll out and expansion of Power BI).
  • Deputise for the Senior Management Accountant as appropriate.

Required skills and experience of the Management Accountant

  • Part Qualified/Qualified ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA/CCAB or equivalent
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Power BI desirable
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills with ability to lead.
  • Experience of disciplined management accounting and forecasting processes.
  • Experience of providing financial analysis to both finance and non-finance managers.
  • Experience of working in complex multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Experience of budget setting in an organisation.
  • Experience of using Financial Information Systems.
  • Experience of using complex spreadsheets and database tools to analyse financial data.
  • Experience of financial analysis to support tenders and business cases.
