We respect and appreciate people of all ethnicities, generations, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, gender identities, and more. We do this by showcasing their talents, skills, and unique experience in an inclusive environment that helps them thrive.

A Contextual Design Engineer is required, trained in Catia v5, LCA and with suitable experience to understand the part context within the whole vehicle design, to support a new BEV project with my high-end Automotive client.

Previous Packaging / DMU experience will be a significant advantage. The role will be supporting the R&D Functions during the complete series geometry maturation phase.

Duration: Until end of 2024

Location: Hybrid working with 1 day a week presence in Crewe offices

Pay rate: £35-40 per hour

Engineers are to work zonally, such that the full vehicle is covered (i.e. Front, Underfloor, Rear, Sides & Upper & Interior). Specific Zones to be covered are negotiable, but experience with a number of the vehicle zones will be essential.

This will involve managing an Issues Tracker, identifying issues and ensuring resolution is achieved in a timely manner, working together with Part Owners in the R&D Functions. Issue Sheets will need to be created for all relevant concerns, and these will be kept up to date through to resolution.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Raising KPM's (business wide issue tracking system) as required, for issues that are not readily resolved.
  • Collation of reports and KPI into the agreed presentation format
  • Creation of Presentations in Powerpoint to aid decision making, as required
  • Ensuring the agreed Packaging Process is adhered to, but also working with flexibility if improvements are required.
  • To be a point of contact for Packaging issues within the Contextual Design team
  • Working closely and collaboratively with other Contextual Design Engineers, as well as within a Cross Functional group and ensuring problems that arise are resolved in a timely manner
