Quality Support Engineer

I'm currently recruiting for a Quality Support Engineer to work on HS2 in Birmingham.

Quality Management:

  • Assist Quality Manager in maintaining quality documentation, data update in Power BI system, Quality Management System (BMS)- Project Schedule, templates monitoring.
  • Coordinating and liaising with QAs, Operation Teams, and other relevant departments on quality related information.
  • Supporting Quality Advisors in cage checks, site assurance checks and any other quality related matter as applicable
  • Administration of quality documents for quality department.
  • Working to the processes and procedures of the Business Management System.
  • Support the undertaking of specific investigations and/or reporting on quality related issues as required.
  • Support the use of appropriate digital toolset to support the project governance and quality assurance/ measures on the project, including training of those tools.
  • Follow quality standards set out by the project requirements, project quality plan and advise the project teams to ensure project delivers and maintain the quality standards.
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm and Right First Time.
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external interfaces as required in implementing project quality plan.
  • Attend meetings - weekly quality advisor meeting, site meetings related to quality matter

Driving improvements in Construction Excellence:

  • Assist Quality Manager in training, coaching, and developing quality skills, including sharing lessons learned.
  • Support the establishment of a continual improvement culture.
  • Assisting with the delivery of Parent Company Innovation and 25% by 2025 goals, particularly relating to reducing waste and digitisation.
  • Business Improvement.
  • Implementing other improvements as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.

The following qualities/ experiences are essential;

  • Sound analytical skills, competent in Excel and other statistical analytical software,
  • Minimum one-year prior work experience in either in construction or deep foundations engineering industry.
  • Has an ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts.
  • Can work to plans, programmes and tasks target deadline.
  • Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion.
  • Can deliver reports orally and written in an objective and persuasive manner;
  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Able to work within a multi-discipline team;
  • Is good at building relationships and can influence effectively;
  • Can demonstrate initiative and resilience;
  • Ability to challenge existing methods and ways of thinking;
  • Fully proficient in modern office computer systems and technology;
  • UK Full Driving Licence
  • CSCS Card

The following qualities/experiences are desirable;

  • Undergraduate degree
