Head of English – SEMH School

Are you an experienced English Teacher or currently Head of English who is available for a new challenge form September 2024? Do you enjoy helping the most reluctant learners to engage with education? This vibrant SEMH school requires a Head of English to manage a small team of teachers in delivering an English curriculum that is tailored to meet the needs of students.

This small, outstanding SEMH school has been praised for the positive impact that teachers and support staff have on the lives of the young people who attend. Students are encouraged to discover a love for learning and overcome the academic barriers that they face. This role requires a Head of English who has previous experience with challenging behaviours or SEMH needs and is able to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire a love for literacy and language.

Job Role:

  • Leading a team of English Teachers to provide an outstanding education within a dynamic Alternative Provision.
  • Teaching English to Key Stages 3 & 4 up to GCSE.
  • Teaching small classes of no more than 10 students.
  • Tailoring the English curriculum to suit the needs of learners.
  • Inspiring a love for all things English Language and Literature.
