Gleeson are delighted to be working with a regionally recognised not-for-profit organisation in Birmingham in their search for a PR & Communications Manager to join the team on a 6 month FTC.
This role would suit a freelancer looking for 3 days per week, or someone happy to take on a 6 months FTC - there is a possibility this role could be extended, but this isn't guaranteed.
As PR & Communications Manager, you will be at the heart of our client's fast-paced Media and Communications team, focusing on promoting the West Midlands regionally, nationally and internationally as a leading destination to do business in and invest in.
Fundamentally, this role will involve generating perception changing stories on the region's key sectors of strength, which include: Tech & Creative; Professional & Financial Services; Advanced Manufacturing; Life Sciences and Low Carbon Technologies.
"What would I be doing day-to-day?"
- Developing and deliver a B2B communications strategy to raise awareness surrounding sectors such as; Tech & Creative, Professional & Financial Services, Advanced Manufacturing, Life Sciences and Low Carbon.
- Supporting the business's sales teams with lead generation.
- Developing opinion-editorials, press releases, quotes, thought leadership and speeches.
- Leading on the management of the company's PR agency to deliver a comprehensive global programme of media relations designed to build awareness surrounding the region.
- Building lasting relationships with key stakeholders, partners and investors in order to identify and implement opportunities to promote the region's key sectors.
- Leading on the monitoring, reporting and evaluation surrounding the B2B agency and investment communications function, utilising CRM.
- Leading crisis and reactive communications in response to negative news stories or reports relating to the region's sector focused economic strategy.
"What experience is your client looking for?"
- Experience within a similar B2B role.
- Experience of pitching to national and international business press.
- Understanding of delivering communications to promote sectors including Tech & Creative, Professional & Financial Services, Advanced Manufacturing, Life Sciences and Low Carbon.
- Delivery of B2B communications for stakeholders and partner audiences.
- Ability to work as part of an integrated team.
