The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant / Handyman to assist our team over the summer turnaround period. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assisting with the preparation of rooms for our new residents as well as responsible for the upkeep and repair of our student accommodation facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant living experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with painting and decorating rooms during the summer turnaround period
  • Respond promptly to maintenance tickets by quickly diagnosing issues and efficiently keeping guests informed through our electronic ticketing system
  • Assist with end of tenancy checkout inspections
  • Ensure properties are maintained to ANUK standards or higher
  • Maintain a high standard of service through robust and timely engagement with our guests
  • Support the overall operations team as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience as a handyman or maintenance assistant
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing
  • Ability to use common tools and equipment for repairs
  • Basic knowledge of statutory maintenance requirements (fire, water regs, etc.)
  • IT reporting skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills
  • Relevant vocational training or certifications are a plus.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, if required.
