Our client, a leader in the manufacturing of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for the aviation sector, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Process Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and enhancing manufacturing systems, processes, and equipment to ensure optimal safety, quality, and efficiency, while reducing manufacturing costs.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and implement efficient and cost-effective production methods for sub-components and final assembly of machines.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance departments to establish and implement solutions to manufacturing issues.
  • Implement best practice standard work on the shop floor to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and material movement through Plan For Every Part.
  • Develop ergonomic processes based on Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Support production departments with production-related issues.
  • Facilitate new product introduction, design for manufacture reviews, and production launch.
  • Adhere to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and company health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with GSE equipment is desirable.
  • Experience with PULSE software and design software such as SolidWorks, PLM, Lantek is advantageous.
  • CAD/CAM and CNC Programming experience is a plus.
  • Third-level qualification, HND in engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use metrics for result analysis.
  • Passion for innovation and a results-driven approach.
  • Proficient IT skills, including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Excellent planning, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a demanding role and use initiative.
  • Availability to work flexible hours when required with notice.
  • Full, clean driving license.
