We are seeking an English Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in the Bedford area starting this September. The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher, but we are open to considering experienced individuals without formal qualifications. Day-to-day of the role:
- Organise and deliver engaging English lessons and coursework.
- Prepare teaching materials and interactive activities to enhance learning.
- Assign homework and exercises that are both challenging and interesting.
- Identify students with special requirements and tailor individualised learning plans.
- Assess exams and assignments, providing constructive feedback to promote student growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress.
- Research and implement effective language teaching methods to improve student outcomes.
- Manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Resolve any conflicts and maintain discipline within the classroom.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff and administrators to foster an enriching student experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an English teacher.
- Familiarity with a variety of teaching methods and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Deep understanding of the national curriculum and English language requirements.
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
- A patient and resilient approach to teaching.
- A strong dedication to students and their educational development.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
