Have you worked as a caretaker, or do you have experience in working as a centre manager, handyperson or facilities manager? We have an immediate opportunity working for one of our childrens centres in Bolton. Working hours between 7am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday, with a late shift till 9pm on a rota basis. Occasional Saturdays may be required. Paying GBP12.25 per hour.
What will you be doing as a Caretaker?
- You will be ensuring that the childrens centre is safe and secure
- You will be undertaking any general maintenance issues and health and safety checks
- Open and close up the site
- Setting up of meeting rooms on site
- Maintaining secure storage of equipment used in the centre
- Meeting up with contractors attending the site
- Interaction with young families and children
- Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs to the building
- Ensuring the site is clean and tidy and free from any health and safety risks
- Spot cleaning duties, cleaning and protecting floors, carpets and soft furnishings , toilets and washrooms in line with councils policy standards
- Updating food hygiene sheets
- Tending to grass verges and ensuring the site looks smart in appearance
- Making hot and cold drinks as and when necessary
We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
- The successful candidate will require an Enhanced DBS - Child and Adult Workforce
- You may have experience in working as a site attendant, centre manager, caretaker, facilities manager
- You will be used to overseeing the security of the building, reporting any health and safety hazards, ensuring the site is safe and secure to receive visitors
- You may have experience in doing general maintenance repairs, painting, decorating, gardening, general plumbing duties
- You may have experience working within schools, youth centres, residential areas, hostels etc
- You will also have clean license and have access to a vehicle

- Regular hours covering shifts - need to be flexible to work until 9pm and the occasional Saturday
