We are looking for a partnering focused Management Accountant to deliver the monthly and annual accounting cycle, reporting, analysis and partnering for a growing business within a wider engineering and manufacturing services group.
This position reports directly into the UK Finance Director and is offering high levels of autonomy as well as close mentoring from an FD who has a strong track record of developing talented finance teams.
We are looking for a driven individual who has a strong core accounting background but likes to partner with operational stakeholders and has a can do attitude!

- Prior experience working in a management accounting capacity - including P&L and B/S control
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience working in manufacturing/engineering sectors (experience of stock and cost accounting)
The Role
The successful Management Accountant will manage the following:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals/accruals/prepayments
- Preparation of management reporting packs and KPIs.
- Weekly P&L accounting to contribution level, encompassing variance reporting, analysis and investigation.
- Support preparation of year end statutory accounts.
- Contact for internal and external audits.
- Provide a variety of cost analysis - e.g. direct and indirect labour, material usage, overhead analysis by cost centre.
- Standard costing / Bill of Materials maintenance.
- Gross Margin reports and analysis.
- Key person in budgeting and forecasting preparation working with cost centre managers to providing meaningful prediction.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Stock controlling, e.g. stock provisions, stock takes
- Capital expenditure appraisals and project tracking
- Oversight of purchase and sales ledgers and credit control activities
- Improving controls, systems, reporting and process
- Partnering with Operational functions to support cost reduction activities
Your Profile
We are looking for a proactive management accountant who looks to drive improvement in their roles.
Someone with prior experience in a Management accounting or financial accounting role who is looking to grow and add value by building close working relationships with operational teams would be ideal for this opportunity
