Freight Forwarder

Responsibilities:

  • Research and determine the optimal shipping route for each shipment.
  • Leverage our technology platform to streamline and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to company-wide quality standards and processes.
  • Maintain compliance with established quality systems, such as AEO, ISO, and others.
  • Foster and nurture strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Guarantee all tasks are executed in line with company operating procedures.
  • Collect, verify, and prepare all necessary documentation to meet customs, insurance, packaging requirements, and adhere to international regulations and fiscal policies.
  • Maintain full visibility and control throughout the entire shipping process, including generating management reports and conducting statistical and cost analysis.
  • Handle customs procedures or arrange for subcontracted services as needed.
  • Input complete job details into the Cargowise system.

Customer Service:

  • Keep clients informed on the status of their shipments, ensuring they are always updated on progress while fostering a culture of excellence in customer service.
  • Work with business development teams and Branch Managers to grow both existing accounts and new business opportunities.
  • Actively build and maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication and site visits.
  • Utilize the company's unique products and service offerings to identify and pursue new business prospects.
  • Maximise every opportunity to assist customers, driving both customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Focus on retaining customer loyalty, even when challenges arise with service delivery.
  • Coordinate insurance arrangements and support clients through any claims processes.
  • Offer guidance on the most cost-effective and efficient ways to transport goods.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, team members, and external partners to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery.
  • Provide alternative solutions when necessary to minimise disruption to scheduled deliveries in the event of changes.
  • Approach problems proactively, seeking solutions before issues escalate.

Finances:

  • Guarantee that all tasks are completed and invoices are processed promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team to manage credit control and reduce the risk of bad debts.
  • Partner with Finance to monitor and control overhead expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with local auditing standards and government regulations.
  • Coordinate with the team and Finance to ensure smooth operations at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.
