**Mechanical Fitter
Location: Llanelli
Salary: £31,000-£41,000 (DOE)
Our client is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanical Fitter to join their team. This is a full-time position available immediately. The successful candidate will work on a variety of trucks, vans and all fleet ensuring that they are maintained to the required standard. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role. There is the opportunity for plenty of overtime paying x1.5 the basic rate for any additional hours worked.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Repairing malfunctioning mechanical systems and vehicles
- Carrying out inspections
- Assisting with MOT inspections
- Completing paperwork and inputting on to CMMS
- Carrying out road tests
- Attending to breakdowns
- Completing Tyre changes and Tyre fittings
- Maintaining the variety of trucks, vans, car and plant machinery as owned by the company
- Collaborating with other Fitters on large-scale projects
- Safely using hand and power tools and company equipment
- Following the agreed maintenance schedule
- Replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed
- Adhering to all work-site safety rules and regulations
The skills and experience you'll bring to the team:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter
- Ability to repair mechanical systems and vehicles
- Experience in carrying out MOT inspections
- Experience in carrying out trailer inspections
- Ability to work on a variety of trucks, vans, cars and plant machinery
- Ability to collaborate with other Fitters on large-scale projects
- Willingness to work occasional weekends (enhanced rate)
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools and company equipment
- Ability to perform system maintenance accordingly in line with line management direction
- Ability to replace damaged or defective structural components as needed
- Adherence to all work-site safety rules and regulations
- Driving Licence (required)
