School Technician / Food Tech and Art Assistant

Food Tech and Art Technician / Assistant with a flexible, hand-on approach, who is highly organised with excellent communication skills is required for a well-established Academy Trust based in Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire.

Ideally candidates will have experience of working within a school Art or Food Tech department (or similar), but this is not essential

SALARY: £22,737 FTE / Actual Annual Salary £15,811 per annum

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire (SO30)

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm, term time only (39 Weeks) - Some flexibility with hours can be arranged for the right candidate

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Food Tech and Art Technician / Assistantwith a flexible, hand-on approach, who is highly organised with excellent communication skills.

Working as the Food Tech and Art Technician / Assistant you will hold a varied and rewarding role where you will play a vital part in supporting the thriving Food Technology and Art departments.

As the Food Tech and Art Technician / Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and Maintenance: You'll ensure all classrooms, kitchens, classrooms and equipment are well-stocked, maintained and ready for practical lessons
  • Supporting Teachers: You'll work alongside teachers to set up resources and activities, ensuring lessons run smoothly and safely
  • Health and Safety: You'll prioritise a safe learning environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen, classrooms and workshops
  • Resource Development: You'll assist with sourcing new materials and keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in Food Technology and Art
  • Technical Expertise: You'll troubleshoot any technical issues with equipment and keep basic machinery running smoothly
  • Creative Inspiration: You'll contribute to fostering a creative and inspiring learning environment for students in both Food Technology and Art

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of working within a school Art or Food Tech department (or similar) would be desirable
  • Possesses practical skills
  • Enthusiastic and proactive manner
  • Excellent communication skills
