Accounts Senior - AAT qual, ACA/ACCA finalist

The role

Reed Practice are proud to be a key supplier to the firm and have been engaged to recruit an AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA finalist or qualified by experience Senior Accountant for their general practice team at their HQ in Bury St Edmunds.

This is NOT an audit position but will be providing high calibre accounting services including corporate and personal tax returns to a portfolio of clients from a wide range sectors.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Producing VAT returns, drawing on knowledge to consult with and advise clients on said returns, submitting to HMRC and resolving any queries.
  • Providing forecasting and projections data for clients to make business decisions.
  • Managing CIS returns
  • Producing P11d's and other payroll advice and services.
  • Full ownership for the planning, performance and preparation of draft accounts and tax computations for senior team member review.
  • Creating self-assessment tax returns, business and partnership tax returns including Capital Gains computations.
  • Preparation of schedules of income from property.

Other aspects of this crucial position in this highly talented and motivated team are mentoring, supervising and reviewing work of junior staff, monitoring the quality to ensure compliant with professional standards, developing client relationships, identifying additional opportunities for the firm, play an active role in developing a profile for the firm.

The successful applicant

This is a position that would suit those who have gained accounting and tax experience within a firm of accountants and looking to take your career to the next level.

As previously mentioned, you will be either AAT qualified, near completing ACA/ACCA, or have no qualifications but considerable experience - and proven success in preparing accounts and tax returns in practice to UK regulations.
