Textile Manager

The role of the Textile Manager is to control the linen management for a plant or plants, ensuring that customer product availability is maximised whilst controlling the textile spend and ensuring that Elis realise maximum value from their investment in textiles. Provide insight to & work with all stakeholders to ensure Customers are on service types and replenishment settings that are both appropriate to their needs and generate manageable demand to Production, flexing demand with the seasons. Act as a "Centre of Knowledge" for the best setup of customers within the Elis systems, and for the range of textiles in use within the plants. Work directly with operational teams to ensure maximum utilisation of linen through best practice.

Your Mission at Elis

  • To ensure that the company's vision, values and policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Pro-actively monitor the demand into the site(s), highlighting customers who are placing
  • demand that is difficult for the site(s) to service and work with stakeholders to deliver
  • against agreed action plans. Consideration to be taken into account for any impacting
  • factors on customer demand.
  • Liaising with colleagues in Account Management (including National Accounts) and Customer Services to address Customer demand problems and drive best practice.
  • Monitor all elements of financial impact of linen pool relating to respective site(s) to ensure that linen spend is in line or favourable to budget.
  • Forecast demand for the site(s), taking into account seasonal, local and national events.
  • Work with all colleagues to best manage seasonal demand changes, proposing solutions to ensure customer service is maintained.
  • Use all available tools to best manage the pool stock, minimising spend whilst maximising product availability, ensuring spend is tracked and kept within budget.
  • Liaise with Customer Services & Account Management on the setups for new accounts, contributing to the process of determining how much Textile will be purchased and ensuring they are set up in such a way as best fits the demand capabilities of the site(s).
  • Work with Operations Manager to ensure rewash & rag out processes on site are compliant with business standards to minimise unnecessary linen investment.
  • Using available data & reporting, provide guidance to Account Managers and Auditors on which customers are potentially holding excess stock and require review.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting in line with business needs.
  • Advising customers on products which means their requirements.
  • Continuously review the site(s) stock level and performance process.
  • Monitor the product stock level at all times.
  • Work in collaboration with internal departments to ensure the quality of service and the quantity of products meets customers expectations.
  • Ensure the storeroom is sized and organized according to the site(s) activity
  • Monitor and control garments reintegration to the B-stock, specifically targeting garments where re-use rate is limited and/or B-stock low

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels and roles within a laundry, influencing as necessary to achieve results
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to analyse & interpret data, drawing meaningful conclusions from it and summarising it in an appropriate form for others
  • Ability to organise self and others to ensure tasks are carried out in a timely manner
  • IT Literate (MS Office – particularly Excel – and in-depth knowledge of Elis UK Limited ERP system - preferred).

Education/Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or experience in working in a highly customer.
  • Focussed service environment with an understanding of laundry production processes.
  • Experience of implementing continuous improvement programmes.
  • Experience of regular reporting; financially and action related.
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence third parties
