Responsibilities of this role:
- Set objectives for the service, develop plans, identify resources and mobilise staff to meet those objectives to ensure the needs of children and their families are met.
- Develop policies and procedures for use within the Unit in order to respond to statutory guidance, local and regional policies and ensure best practice social work interventions and the management of risk to children.
- Manage Social Work Units, prioritise and allocate tasks, provide guidance and direction to ensure effective service delivery to children and their families.
- Oversee casework to ensure high quality assessment, planning and review of cases in line with statutory regulations and guidelines.
- Recruit, develop, motivate and support employees to ensure effective and accountable working practices and the well being and safety of staff.
- Manage the budget for the service so that systems for delegated financial authority are followed to comply with financial regulations and ensure best value.
- Develop information systems to collate statistical data and management information and produce reports using quantitative and qualitative data to describe performance in key areas within the service.
Requirements of this role:
- Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
- Must have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in social work, social work degree or equivalent)
- Must have minimum of 2 years experience working as a Qualified social worker in a similar team
