SALARY: £49,498 - £54,707 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid split between working from home and the office in Wokingham.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a SEND Team Assistant Managerwith extensive experience working within a SEND / SEN team, ability to deal with complex case work managing multiple cases, and good staff leadership and supervisory skills.

Working as the SEND Team Assistant Manager you will play an active role in supporting the SEND services development journey, making positive change and helping to improve experiences and outcomes for the children and young people within the service with additional needs and/or disabilities.

As the SEND Team Assistant Manager you will line manage a team of SEND Officers responsible for all aspects of the SEND journey, working in partnership with key stakeholders, in particular children and young people and their families, as well as educational settings, to ensure collaborative working and the promotion of safeguarding at all times.

DUTIES

Your duties as a SEND Team Assistant Managerwill include:

  • Direct line management of SEND team officers with responsibility for all aspects of the SEND journey, from EHC needs assessments to annual reviews, placements and progressing to positive outcomes for young people at the end their SEND journey
  • Developing and managing high quality EHCPs and case work, through participation in an innovative SEND Audit programme
  • Deputise for the SEND Practice Manager when required with opportunities for career development
  • Attendance at weekly Multi - Disciplinary decision-making forum. Making informed decisions for children and young people - the right support at the right time
  • Working in partnership to build strong and proactive relationships with all stakeholders, including children & young people, their families and educational settings
  • At all times Promote safeguarding for all children and young people through collaborative working

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to manage and deal with case work of a complex nature, managing multiple cases
  • Thorough knowledge of SEN(D) Code of Practice and Children and Families Act - implementing SEND Reforms and good practice on inclusive education
  • Extensive experience of working within a dynamic and busy SEND Team
  • Experience of line managing, including both established Team members and inducting new colleagues
