We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in the Tower Bridge area that are looking to appoint an experienced Supported Pathways Officer to join the Rough Sleepers Support Service.
Contract - 4-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
Full Time Hours - 9am - 4pm or 12pm- 8pm shifts - 36 hours per week.
Location - SE1.
Rate of Pay - £21+ per hour - Negotiable depending on experience.
Main Duties:

  • Assist residents in securing their next stage housing, providing resettlement support so that they successfully move into and sustain their new home.
  • Provide appropriate floating support for 6 months and to ensure they are linked into necessary support services thereafter.
  • Provide assertive client centred key-working, risk assessment and support planning to a caseload of approximately 10 clients aimed at supporting them to maintain their current accommodation and link into services and meaningful activities which help them to improve their physical and mental wellbeing well-being and life skills.
  • Understand the impact of Adverse Child Experiences and the principles of Trauma Informed Care and to provide a holistic key working approach which aims to help residents to recognise preventative action that they can take to break the cycle of homelessness.
  • Ensure continual high quality assessment of risk to residents and colleagues and ensure abidance to all council policies and procedures.

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the impact of Adverse Child Experiences and the principles of Trauma Informed Care when dealing with homeless people who have complex needs.
  • Knowledge of the Care Act and Housing legislation and the available support in relation to single homeless adults.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and other support that is available to residents of supported accommodation.
