Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be supporting an organisation who operate a group of businesses in the Downham Market area who are expanding and require a Finance Assistant to take responsibility for a division of the group.
Your new role
In the role of Finance Assistant, you will take responsibility for processing purchase and sales ledger invoices, bank reconciliations, reconciling the balance sheet control accounts as well as collating the payroll data for the outsourced payroll provider.
As explained, you will be responsible for a specific division of the group with the plan to take over the cash flow management forecasting and monthly management accounts from the Finance Manager within the next 6 -9 months, allowing them to undertake more strategic finance duties for the Directors. Therefore, ideally, you will be an AAT student or qualified by experience Bookkeeper with at least an understanding of monthly reporting as you will take on more responsibility as the business and role develops.
What you'll need to succeed
As the Finance Assistant, you will be confident with ledger processing, ideally using Xero, and at least be aware of cash flow analysis and the preparation of monthly management accounts.
The role will involve working closely with non-finance staff. Therefore, you will have clear communication skills and be able to articulate what is required from the retail site regarding financial data.
What you'll get in return
The organisation offers a salary between £28,000 - £33,000 depending on experience, 28 days holiday including the bank holidays, free car parking and working 5 days a week, 8.30am - 5.00pm at their Head Office in West Dereham near Downham Market.
