  • Salary: Circa £36,000 - £37,000

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join a well-established organisation based across Cumbria on a maternity fixed term contract. This is a key role in supporting the Leadership team's decision-making and ensuring the financial stability.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Develop and lead on risk management policies, procedures, and systems to manage financial risks.
  • Contribute to the development of financial strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the CFO in providing financial reports and information.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
  • Quality assure financial reporting for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and financial regulations.
  • Prepare scenario budget costings and revised budgets.
  • Address issues raised by external and internal audit functions.
  • Meet external reporting and filing deadlines, including VAT, PAYE, NI, and Pensions.
  • Maintain compliance with Data Protection/GDPR for financial information.
  • Support monthly financial tasks such as bank reconciliations, postings, month-end completion, and preparation of management accounts and balance sheets.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency and procurement savings.
  • Undertake financial evaluations of new projects and initiatives.
  • Manage correspondence and handle enquiries and complaints from external agencies and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial management.
  • Strong understanding of risk management policies and financial regulations.
  • Ability to contribute to financial strategy and policy development.
  • Experience in preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Knowledge of statutory financial obligations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
