Global business require a Shipping Coordinator. Applicants need a background in shipping, exports or logistics. Knowledge of Incoterms, shipping / export documentation, licensing and letters of credit is desirable. Freight forwarder liaison is also part of the role.
The Shipping Coordinator will join a team of shipping and logistics professionals reporting to a manager. The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the business imports and exports in a compliant manner.
Specific duties of the Shipping Coordinator include:
- Organise shipments of products, inter-company and to customer locations
- Produce export and shipping documentation such as; EUR1, packing lists, invoices, certificates of origin, insurances etc
- Freight forwarder liaison (road, sea, air); get quotes, book shipments, give customs clearance forms
- Review letters of credit
- Ensure company logistics and shipping SOP are adhered to
Shipping Coordinator applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Experience in a logistics, shipping, imports, or exporting role
- Knowledge of Incoterms, export and shipping documents - EUR1, packing lists, invoices, certificates of origin, insurances etc
- Previous exposure to letter of credit - desirable
- Experience with ocean, air and land freight
- Interest in UK customs and international trade compliance, and export licensing
