We are seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of construction processes and costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.
- Analyse blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to gather essential information and ensure accurate estimates.
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labour expenses.
- Conduct site visits to gather information on project requirements, site conditions, and potential challenges.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes and bids.
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimation tools.
- Monitor and report on project costs, budgets, and progress.
- Provide support in preparing bids and proposals for new projects.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
- Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the residential construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and costs.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
