A well-established Property Management business is seeking an experienced and professional Clerk of Works to join their privately-owned estate in Bedfordshire.

The Clerk of Works Role

As Clerk of Works, you will be responsible for overseeing inspections, reporting, and project management services for the Property Department. You will work closely with the Head of Building Maintenance to ensure timely and effective results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage cyclical redecoration works, including supervising both in-house and external contractors.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections, maintain project records, and ensure systems are in place for forward planning.
  • Liaise with contractors, tenants, residents, and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and project delivery.
  • Manage contractors within pre-defined briefs, process invoices, and monitor work quality.
  • Ensure compliance with Estates fire, emergency procedures, Health & Safety, and CDM regulations.
  • Uphold professional standards and engage in continuous professional development.
  • Participate in the Management and Reactive Service Team call-out rota and the Estates Fire Salvage team.

The Clerk Of Works

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Clerk of Works, ideally within the private sector.
  • Must be ICWCI Qualified and Chartered.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willing to undergo CRB check.
  • Familiarity with Qube software is advantageous.
  • Ability make strategic decisions and work independently.
  • Be reactive and proactive.
  • Must be willing to relocate or live locally in Bedford.
