Managing Associate/Legal Director

We are looking to recruit a Managing Associate or Legal Director for our client's award-winning Competition team, an integral part of their broader Commercial Services Group.

This full-time, permanent role offers a varied multi-disciplinary practice, potentially including regulatory, dispute resolution, or commercial matters requiring competition law expertise.

Your role as a Managing Associate or Legal Director in our Competition team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients on antitrust matters, including merger control, investigations, behavioural advice, compliance training, and support.
  • Conducting National Security and Investment Act analyses and notifications.
  • Providing guidance on subsidy control and associated policies.
  • Delivering commercial and regulatory advice tailored to your experience, with opportunities for further development.
  • Building new work opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships through marketing, business development, and client care initiatives.
  • Handling competition litigation and appeal work, depending on your experience.
  • Playing an active, senior role in developing the firm's local and national offerings.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Registered Foreign Lawyer or equivalent) with approximately 6-12 PQE (applications outside this range are welcome).
  • Experience in two or more antitrust areas, such as merger control, competition investigations, compliance programs, behavioural advice, and National Security and Investment Act analyses. Expertise in at least one area is essential. Experience in competition litigation and subsidy control is also desirable.
  • Broader commercial and/or regulatory experience or a willingness to multi-skill. Experience with clients in sectors like retail, consumer goods, financial services, digital, future energy, leisure, real estate, and government is beneficial.
  • A proven track record in business development, creating, nurturing, and sustaining strong client relationships.
