Our client is an incredible company to work for who we have been recruiting for around 20 years. They have a proud history of investing in their people. They are seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Trainer to join their dynamic team in Bristol.

This role is vital in empowering their business to expand and enhance their training capabilities. If you have a background in construction and a passion for teaching/training, we want to hear from you!

The Technical Trainer enables the business to conduct more hands-on training courses, build more tests and demos and expand training to new locations. They will support the construction and delivery of existing hands-on training courses at our Bristol Training Centre, build test specimens at laboratories in UK and abroad, trial new products, help maintain the training centre and develop new course with the Training Centre Manager, and build and deliver courses in customer's premises/sites, or other locations.

Key Responsibilities of a Technical Trainer:

  • Training Delivery: Lead and support hands-on training courses at their Bristol Training Centre and other locations (Manchester, Leeds)
  • Set-up of courses and training areas to achieve course schedules.
  • Construction of demos and test laboratory build to timelines and high quality.
  • Must have an advanced ability to construct passive fire protection.
  • Must have an advanced ability to construct drywall systems (framing).
  • Must have an advanced ability to construct drywall systems (boarding).
  • Must have time management.
  • Must be able to deliver company hands-on courses (after training).
  • Must be able to construct test specimens accurately to drawings.
  • Should have the basic ability to develop new training courses to meet customer needs.
  • Should have the ability to systematically trial products.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Significant real-world experience in constructing lightweight construction systems or passive fire protection. They will also have either direct experience in construction training, in a college or through apprentices, or are very keen to develop this skill.
  • Should be comfortable working in a training team and often independently.
  • Should have good general construction skills and can problem solve as well as follow best practice closely.
  • License: Full UK Driving License required for travel to various locations.
  • Desirable: A relevant construction training qualification, a strong enthusiasm for training and development, and could build and dismantle light construction systems at a good pace.
