The Role:

We are seeking a committed and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our team, working with Year 5 and Year 6 students. In this role, you will provide targeted interventions in key subject areas such as English and Maths, supporting pupils who are tracking behind expected progress. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the learning journey of our older students, working closely with an experienced class teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted support and interventions in English and Maths for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils who need additional help to meet their learning goals.
  • Work with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning concepts, offering personalised assistance where needed.
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and assessing pupil progress, ensuring that interventions are tailored to individual needs.
  • Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment, helping to build pupils' confidence and academic skills.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to contribute to the overall success of the classroom.
  • Provide general classroom support, including preparation of resources and assistance with classroom management.

About You:

  • Ideally hold a TA qualification, although candidates with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience working with primary-aged children, particularly in upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5 and Year 6).
  • A solid understanding of the primary curriculum, especially in English and Maths.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • This role is also well-suited for a qualified teacher looking to step back from leading a class but still eager to make an impact in education.

What We Offer:

  • A welcoming and collaborative school environment.
  • The opportunity to work alongside experienced and dedicated educators.
  • Professional development opportunities to further your skills and career.
  • A role that allows you to make a significant difference in the academic progress of our students.

How to Apply:
If you are passionate about helping students achieve their full potential and are eager to start immediately, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV outlining your suitability for this role as soon as possible.
