Hours: Temporary contract – Fulltime working 36.5 hours per week, from June 17-July 31, 2024 (33 working days).

Location: Brighton, United Kingdom
Contract: fixed term until 31st July 2024
Salary: £230 per day for 33 days - £7590.

Expected start date: June 17th, 2024.

Objective: Help Plant Futures and industry stakeholders unlock how we can drive long-term growth in the UK plant-based sector.

Data Source: 2023 survey data from the EU Smart protein research which was funded by the 5-year EU Horizon 2020 project and conducted across 12 countries. Raw respondent level data will be provided and a company called SigDiff will ensure you have a clean set of data tables and some base analysis to work with. This will include:

  • Full set of data tables with top breaks and cross tabs
  • Net codes in the tables and relevant grouped responses
  • Factor analysis
  • Tables will be statistically tested to 95% significance

Focus: Primarily on the UK market, with interest in the insights from other 11 countries where this survey was conducted. This new study will follow on from an analysis on the 2021 wave of research which was conducted across the same 12 markets and will provide the comparison set and conclusions which will be shared

Person Specification

Required

  • We are looking for an Insights analyst, this is not a pure data analyst /scientist role as the outputs and conclusions will be the key to success
  • Completed (or be close to completing) a PhD in economics, marketing, business studies, statistics, or a similar core related field
  • Knowledge of data analysis, key statistical methods, what they mean, and experience of using data and statistical analysis to come to conclusions.
  • Strong excel skills (including pivot tables, conditional formatting, sorting, filtering, formulas, etc)
  • Good presentation / ppt, and data visualisation skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ideal

  • The ability to work with raw respondent level data and undertake statistical analysis on it would be helpful, although won't definitely be needed as the data tables, base sig testing, and factor analysis will be provided.
  • Curiosity in generating clear insights from data to address business questions, with a passion for impactful contributions and enthusiasm for continuous learning
  • Familiarity with SPSS or willingness to learn, with an openness to alternative presentation tools like Canva to produce infographics.

Interest in exploring web analytics and social media analysis tools (Google analytics) with a readiness to learn.
