You'll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.This Director role leads our Learning, Talent and Performance Team (‘L,T&P') reporting to the Head of People.The role encompasses strategic leadership to continue to build the firm's learning culture to support our people, teams and the business to succeed. A key aspect of this will involve the successful implementation of our new approach to firmwide core skills learning. To support our people to develop the skills, behaviours and mindsets to succeed now and in the future.As part of developing our learning culture, this role will collaborate with subject matter experts across the business to spearhead the advancement of best practices in learning design. This includes incorporating advancements in technology and data to enhance our learning initiatives and ensure they remain at the forefront of innovation.This role will lead a team of Learning, Talent and Performance Management professionals, to adopt a holistic approach to design and implement innovative and impactful learning, talent and performance strategies to meet evolving business needs.This role covers learning, talent development and associated activity for our c7,500 people across the business up to and including Principal grade. Learning strategy development and execution for partners (salaried and equity) and senior individuals identified for partner track progression is primarily facilitated by the Partnership Office. The successful candidate for this role will have close connections and collaboration with the Partnership Office to ensure connectivity and alignment to our firmwide Learning Proposition. The firm is driving one overarching Learning Proposition that supports our colleagues from the start of their career through to Partnership, with the Proposition being operationally flexed and nuanced to support colleagues at different points in their career.Key responsibilities: Strategic Leadership and Collaboration

  • To design and implement learning, talent and performance strategies in collaboration with senior stakeholders across the business to build the skills, mindsets and learning culture for our people to thrive and to deliver on business ambitions.To connect learning, talent and performance strategies to our broader people strategy to deliver on firm priorities and our people strategy as a member of the HR Leadership Team.To build and lead a high performing L,T &P team that works collaboratively and seamlessly across HR to deliver a high quality service to the business.To provide expert advice with external insights and developments to add value across the business.

Learning & Development

  • To develop and implement our new firmwide learning strategy in collaboration with senior leaders. To ensure our approach to core skills learning is aligned across the Firm in one clear, coherent and well understood strategy to build the skills for our people to succeed now and in the future.To lead the collaboration of SMEs across the business to develop best practice in learning design aligned to developments in technology and data. To include collaboration with SME's from across Knowledge Management, Mandatory Learning, IT, technical learning, Technology and Innovation and Comms.To collaborate on firm priorities, to build the skills, mindsets and behaviours to unlock potential and support successful business change.To monitor and evaluate the impact and outcomes of our learning offerings using various metrics. To report on return on investment and impact, to keep under constant review.Oversight of the Professional Qualifications department, supporting our trainee population.

Talent Management

  • To develop and embed our approach to talent management in collaboration with senior leaders to align to business needs. To include talent identification, promotion processes and succession planning.To provide clarity around career development and to align to our broader people strategy.

Performance Management

  • To develop and embed our approach to performance management working in collaboration with senior leaders to foster a culture of feedback and career conversations.To support engagement and high performance and to align to our broader people strategy.

Technology and innovation

  • To collaborate with IT and other SMEs to ensure that our learning solutions are innovative, effective and aligned with business needs. To align to developments in learning technologies and the use of data.To establish effective external networks and partnerships to continually enhance our learning, talent and performance strategies.

You'll be someone with:

Extensive leadership experience in designing and implementing learning strategies, strategic people initiatives and organisational change.Proven experience in a professional services environment.Demonstrable ability of developing and embedding firmwide learning, talent and performance strategies to deliver on strategic objectives.Proven experience of leading learning teams in a regulated environment with a clear understanding of professional qualifications, technical learning and knowledge management.Leadership and team management
