We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Foundation Studies to join our team, with a focus on delivering exceptional teaching and learning experiences to students with a range of learning abilities, including those with special educational needs. The role involves comprehensive subject-based and pedagogic responsibilities, ensuring the retention and achievement of students through the delivery of good practice.

Lecturer in Foundation Studies

  • Hours: Full-time (36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)
  • Salary: 31300 - £43700 pa
  • Location: North West London

Day to day of the role of a Foundation Studies Lecturer :

  • Teach a diverse group of learners within the Foundation Learning/Entry curriculum, including RARPA.
  • Plan and collaborate with Learning Support Assistants to enhance the learning environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies for learners with complex special educational needs, including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
  • Contribute to the employability and tutorial elements of the Foundation Learning curriculum, including community-based delivery opportunities.
  • Participate in and organise educational trips and activity days within Foundation Studies.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Foundation Studies Lecturer role :

  • Degree in the subject area or 2 years of experience teaching foundation studies.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification
  • Proven experience teaching SEN learners and in Foundation Learning.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Code of Practice and Foundation Learning.
  • Experience of delivering RARPA and Functional Skills.
  • Experience of working in a Total Communication environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work some evenings, participate in residential trips, and activity days.
