We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Foundation Studies to join our team, with a focus on delivering exceptional teaching and learning experiences to students with a range of learning abilities, including those with special educational needs. The role involves comprehensive subject-based and pedagogic responsibilities, ensuring the retention and achievement of students through the delivery of good practice.
Lecturer in Foundation Studies
- Hours: Full-time (36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)
- Salary: 31300 - £43700 pa
- Location: North West London
Day to day of the role of a Foundation Studies Lecturer :
- Teach a diverse group of learners within the Foundation Learning/Entry curriculum, including RARPA.
- Plan and collaborate with Learning Support Assistants to enhance the learning environment.
- Develop and implement strategies for learners with complex special educational needs, including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
- Contribute to the employability and tutorial elements of the Foundation Learning curriculum, including community-based delivery opportunities.
- Participate in and organise educational trips and activity days within Foundation Studies.
Required Skills & Qualifications for the Foundation Studies Lecturer role :
- Degree in the subject area or 2 years of experience teaching foundation studies.
- Level 5 teaching qualification
- Proven experience teaching SEN learners and in Foundation Learning.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the Code of Practice and Foundation Learning.
- Experience of delivering RARPA and Functional Skills.
- Experience of working in a Total Communication environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to work some evenings, participate in residential trips, and activity days.
