We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our team in Hastings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment, providing essential support to our legal team.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Audio Typing: Accurately transcribe legal documents, correspondence, and reports from audio recordings.
- Document Preparation: Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Client Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients, solicitors, and court officials, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- File Management: Organise and maintain electronic and paper filing systems, ensuring easy retrieval of documents.
- Scheduling: Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for solicitors.
- Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, managing emails, and handling mail.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in audio typing with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a law firm or legal department.
- Familiarity with legal case management software.
